Traditionally in the past the Village has utilized funds from Issue I (Ohio Public Works Commission) Grants in combination with the Villages Street levy fund to pave a street or two each year. Throughout the years it has become increasingly challenging to obtain this grant through the OPWC and the recent increase in cost of paving over the last 5 years have added to the challenges of affordable resurfacing. In 2024 the Village proceeded with a resurfacing project of approximately 1550 lineal feet at a cost of approximately $135,000, which was paid for from Covid relief funding grant. With current Street levy funding of around $24,000 per year collected, It would take more than 5 years of the village having no other street related expenses to be able to pave a project of this size.
